Our Head Barber Oliver Howarth completes 24-hour challenge at the weekend, raising a staggering amount for the Marie Curie Hospice in Bradford, in loving memory of his Uncle Yan.

Ollie proved he was a cut above the rest this weekend, hosting a 24-hour challenge of back-to-back appointments in order to raise money for a hospice who cared for his Uncle.

At 5am on Saturday 5th September, Ollie braved a dark and lonely salon as he set up for his cut-a-thon and saw the first of his clients arrive at the salon for their “out of hour” cuts!

Several coffees, Red Bulls, and midnight WhatsApp messages of support later, Ollie was well underway on his mission and surprisingly enjoyed the challenge, stating “the biggest challenge had to be staying awake in-between appointments. If I had stopped for too much time I could have easily fallen asleep on the spot”.

Ollie’s efforts will benefit the Marie Curie Hospice in Bradford. All that was asked to take part in the challenge was a minimum of £10 a cut, of which 100% of donations would be gifted to the hospice.

Ollie’s Uncle sadly passed away in the early hours of the 24th of July 2020. In his memory, Ollie wanted to do something special and to raise money for the hospice which looked after him in his final days and made his passing as it could pleasantly be for his Uncle Yan and his family.

So far, Ollie has exceeded his target of £500 by more than 6 times, raising a whopping £3,410 for the hospice. The fundraiser will be live until the end of the week. If you would like to make a last-minute donation as part of Ollie’s efforts, you can do so by accessing the fundraiser link, here.
